The Elmley cabin is a versatile log cabin that is a great way to expand your indoor space in your garden. It is a mid-sized building that could be used for many purposes, including as a workshop, office space, games room or garden gym.
Overall dimensions are 5.24 meters x 3.36 metres (17 x 11 feet) and the internal floor dimensions of 4.7m x 2.7m give a total floor space of 12.77 square meters (137 square feet). The front of the roof has a 36cm overhang for rain protection.
The large front windows and glazed double door provide the cabin with lots of natural light. The windows are double glazed and feature tilt and turn operation opening.
It's notable specification include 45mm thick interlocking log walls and a floor and roof made with 19mm tongue and groove.
A log cabin is a great way to transform your outdoor space. Forest Garden log cabins have roofs and floors made from kiln-dried Tongue & Groove boards and are available with a choice of different roof felt options (we recommend the roof options that include underlay).
The timber used for these log cabins is slow grown, clear, Nordic Spruce. This timber is FSC? certified to ensure the stainability of the wood. The timber is kiln dried and we strongly advise that you apply and appropriate solvent-based preservative treatment inside and outside soon after assembly to extend the life of the cabin and whilst the timber used will change colour over time, simply re-apply a colour-based timber treatment regularly to maintain your preferred look.
Our precision-engineered logs are constructed with a 6-sided joint and chalet-cut corners to strengthen against the UK?s weather.
This log cabin must be built on a flat, level surface that is solid.
Different roof felt options are available for our log cabins. This option includes a 24kg weight Polyester felt, but with no underlay (We advise you consider the small upgrade to Polyester felt with additional black sand felt underlay). The felt has a polyester fibre base layer, making it much tougher and more resistant to tearing than non-polyester grades. As this felt has more than twice the tear resistance of conventional mineral felt it has a life expectancy of up to 15 years when installed properly.
