Preparing a Post and Pier Base

Will cope with the steepest slopes, and involves building a timber deck on which to place the shed.

Dig a 300mm x 300mm hole to a depth of 600mm. 

Compact 100mm gravel for drainage [allows water to flow away quickly]. Pour concrete and finish at ground level.

WONKEE DONKEE recommends using a Metpost Concrete-In post support, 100mm, or similar, which you set into the concrete, continually checking it is upright. Once the concrete has set, the post can be driven in.
